Kajo
Work in progress
The Kajo project is set in forests and landscapes that have burnt down in Finland and Europe at different times. The project includes several dance performances and dance videos.
Kajo is a site-specific series of works dealing with human and non-human agency.
The aim is to create unique dance performances with live music and shoot videos in black landscapes shaped by wildfires. Kajo also aims to bring the imagined and experienced forest to life through contemporary art, while inviting reflection on the relationship with nature.
The working group includes performance artist Maria Laitila, costume designer Riikka Mäntymaa, cinematographers Jussi Virkkumaa, Lassi Karhulahti and musician Juho Kanervo.
